Microsoft Has Found a New Partner

There’s a new member in town for the fight to achieve smartphone supremacy. Samsung, in an unexpected announcement informed the world that they will be teaming up with Microsoft for the Windows Phone 7. Samsung had always been a global giant when it comes to providing top quality mobile technology and now with this venture in making smartphones they plan to apply their business technique smarts and hope to succeed in the new project. There will be several models based on the Windows Phone 7 platform and related application software that will be launched in Asia, Europe and US this year.

On the press release by Samsung Electornics Co., Ltd which can be found in one of the pages of Engadget, Steve Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President, OEM Division at Microsoft said that they are looking “forward to deepening our collaboration with Samsung on mobile devices and beyond, with our multi-screen strategy.” The collaboration of Microsoft and Samsung may very well be the blow that Microsoft wants to deal to Motorola, an old partner who is now facing lawsuits regarding patent infringements filed by Microsoft in ITC. Well, nobody can’t say for sure, all we can say right now is the new partnership is looking very strong. The Windows Phone 7 smartphones by Samsung is said to merge the  latest in hardware design with Microsoft’s technology.
